Master Bedroom Makeover the Beginning

best is yet to come

As a young adult I haven't had the opportunity/funds to buy all my own stuff. Instead I have been given hand me downs (which I am very grateful for). My parents gave me their old bedroom set, one piece at a time ;) and I have always loved it but it is started to get worn out and multiple drawers now done work. I have bought my own bedding but of course they were on the cheaper end so my comforter didn't last very long.

I have decided now that life is starting to settle down, not a whole lot but after 3 major life events it sure feels settled down :), that it is time for me to decorate my husband and I's bedroom. We've been living it in for 2 years with all our mis-matched pieces and our cluttered mess.

Before Bedroom Makeover

I have to admit I am going to miss this headboard! I love mirrors, I have decided though if I am replacing the rest of the set this needs to go as well. Plus the husband hates it :) lol. My plan is to replace it with a headboard we will make that has a mirror on it as well, just a little more modern look.  I also cannot wait to get a bedskirt on this bed!

The curtains on the left I got as a teenager garage saleing with my mom. I fell in Love with them and only paid $5 for them! At one point though I had a kitten climb up them and made a real mess of them, you don't really notice it unless you look closely but I know its there, and again the husband isn't a fan of them. The other curtain I still like but its just hanging there serving no decretive purpose and I would like to have something a bit more pretty.

My corner of the bedroom... what a cluttered mess! I am going to need to find some ideas to organize my stuff better, I would love suggestions.

The husband's corner, not so bad but I would love to get that TV off of the dresser and mounted onto the wall. Plus the purple wall color just doesn't match our style so I think that will be the first thing to go.

Well my daughter took a nap I moved all everything out of my corner and took down the curtains and was able to paint the first two walls!

Fudge

I chose the color Fudge by Pittsburgh paint & stain. I just love that it is so bold and yet a neutral color. I plan on decorating with golds and reds so it should pop off this brown color!

I will share more about my Bedroom makeover the more I get done! I will do my best to remember to let you know where I got everything and supply the links as we go. I appreciate any advice you have for me.

Thank you for stoping by my blog today :)
